Innovasea is leading a NOAA Sea Grant-funded project to plan, de-risk, and pre-permit a commercial open-ocean finfish farm off the west coast of Puerto Rico. This production planning report builds on the project’s species selection work and evaluates potential production scenarios.
The report examines how fish move through the production cycle, from juvenile supply and nursery systems to offshore grow-out and harvest. It also explores farm sizing, infrastructure requirements, growth assumptions, feed demand, and resource needs under multiple development scenarios.
