Innovasea Enhances NexTrak Capabilities With New Innovations

Innovasea, a global leader in technologically advanced aquatic solutions for fish tracking and aquaculture, proudly announced today two upgrades to its NexTrak system: the Acoustic Release (AR) receiver and Increased Residency (IR) programming.

Innovasea’s innovative NexTrak AR receiver combines the world’s most advanced acoustic telemetry system with acoustic release (AR) capabilities. Researchers can now enjoy dependable, diver-free retrieval of their NexTrak gear and mooring equipment. This, combined with the system’s proven performance – 40% greater range and 2x as many detections – offers a complete solution for tracking and retrieval.

Through this innovation, researchers can confidently deploy receiver(s), log data, and easily and safely recover their equipment from even the harshest study environments.

“By integrating AR capabilities to our high-performing NexTrak line, we’ve transformed what can be a costly and potentially hazardous process,” said Jean Quirion, Vice President of Research and Development at Innovasea. “We want to empower researchers to explore more remote, extreme areas, with the utmost confidence that they can retrieve their data and equipment.”

The NexTrak AR receiver is now available for pre-order.

Meanwhile, Innovasea’s Increased Residency (IR) programming is a new tag feature that allows for significantly improved performance in high residency scenarios. Now, researchers can expect up to 5x more detections, due to fewer tag collisions in densely tagged areas. The tag upgrade will help elevate specific projects, including those dealing with fast-moving species, fish congregation sites, and fine-scale positioning studies.

Increased Residency (IR) programming leverages NexTrak receivers to boost residency and detections.

Additionally, Innovasea will test a new feature inside our analysis software, Fathom, at the upcoming International Conference on Fish Telemetry (ICFT) – June 8-13th. The update is designed to even further increase the probability of detection with NexTrak receivers and attendees who sign up will gain an early look and have the opportunity to provide feedback.
